Pallets are be stored lengthways and must have three continuous skids.
Pallets can be positioned with telescope or standard forks.
Order picking from pallet by hand, hand pallet truck or forklift.
Loading, unloading
- Goods are placed on the tracks of the live storage rack by a storage retrieval system using telescope forks or a forklift.
- The inclination of the roller tracks (4%) allows the pallets to move automatically - without being driven by a motor - from the entry position to the order picking position.
- During the movement along the roller tracks, the speed of the pallets (0.3 m/sec) is controlled by brake rollers built in at every pallet position – with the exception of the entry position.
- Before reaching the order picking position, the speed of the leading pallet is increased thereby separating it from the line of pallets behind. This difference in speed is achieved by having the brake rollers set at different positions.
- In the final section of the order picking position the loaded pallet rolls over a speed regulator, slows down thereby activating the safety separator and rolls gently against the endstop.
- When the switch guide on the safety separator is pressed down, the pallet stop is raised mechanically by a switch bar. This pallet stop holds back the following line of pallets. This creates a gap between the pallet in the order picking position and the pallets behind.
- If the pallet in the order picking position is being unloaded by hand, the switch bar of the safety separator cannot be raised until the pallet has been completely removed from the channel.
- Steps 4 - 7 are then repeated.
Speed Regulator:
Speed regulator is built into one of the rollers, blank steel tube, 80 mm diameter, and fixed to the track with special clips. The speed regulator works by centrifugal force: through the rotary movement the brake-shoes are accelerated by an epicyclic gear in the roller and pressed against the braking surface.
The braking system works in direct contact with the pallet. Apart from the order picking position, every pallet position is fitted with a speed regulator.
The safety separator:
A switch guide near the order picking position is connected to the pallet stop by a system of rods. The pallet stop is locked by means of a knee-lever mechanism.
