How dynamic storage works

Pallet live storage racking

  1. The goods to be stored (pallet) are placed in the centre of the lane of the pallet live storage rack by the stacker. The pallet can be guided in using entry guides.
  2. Due to the incline of the track (4%) the pallets roll from the loading position to the unloading position on their own without being motor-driven.
  3. During the pallet's progress its speed (maximum 3.3 m/second) is constantly controlled by brake-rollers set at every pallet position.
  4. Just before it reaches the unloading position, the first pallet accelerates separating itself from the group of pallets immediately behind it. The difference in speed is brought about by a special arrangement of brake-rollers. The relation in speed between the heaviest and the lightest pallets should not exceed 1:10 so that a gap between the pallets can be formed.
  5. in the final section of the unloading position the goods run over a brake-roller, decelerate, press against the separator guide and roll to the end of the lane.
  6. When the separator guide is pressed down, the pallet stop is mechanically raised by the separator rod. The remainder of the pallets remain standing at this stop. There is a gap between the pallet in the unloading position and the other pallets.
  7. When the pallet in the unloading position is removed, the separator rod is raised again thereby unlocking the pallet stop once the pallet is completely removed from the land.

Push back racking

  1. The goods to be stored (pallet) are placed in the centre of the lane of rollers. No entry guides are used here because the pallet could get caught up in them when rolling back.
  2. The stacker pushes the pallets one place further up against the incline of the lane of rollers.
  3. For safety reasons, push back racks from SAAR LAGERTECHNIK are always equipped with brake-rollers. The number of brake-rollers is determined by the length of the lane.

Handling and lifting equipment

Saar Lagertechnik offer dynamic storage for the many different applications: loading the pallets by:

  • Stackers with tilt-mast or forks
  • Stackers with non-tilt mast or forks
  • Narrow aisle stackers
  • Electric pallet lift trucks
  • Pedestrian pallet stackers
  • Automatic stackers with telescopic forks
  • Automatic stackers with roller or chain conveyor
  • Manual cross sliding cars
  • Automatic cross sliding cars

The following possibilities are available for removing pallets from the racking:

  • Hand pallet lift truck
  • Manual unloading

Carriers

Dynamic storage offers the possibility to store many different kinds of load. To some extent, different loads can also be stored in the same lane. Standard solutions for the following carriers are available:

  • Euro pallets 1200x800mm, lengthways or sideways
  • Industry pallets 1200x1000mm, lengthways or sideways
  • Chep pallets 1200x1000mm, lengthways or sideways
  • Düsseldorf or chep pallets 600x800mm
  • Chemical pallets CP1 to CP9
  • Pallets for the drinks industry
  • Caged box pallets

Special solutions for other carriers e.g. steel containers, plastic pallets, over-sized pallets , etc can also be stored. For special solutions our standard components are mainly used.
