Drive-in Racking
Where goods of the same type are stored in bulk and selectivity and stock rotation are not critical factors, Drive-in racking is ideal first-in, last-out.
Better space utilisation is achieved because drive-in racking saves space in the depth and height, without needing extra aisles. Space savings can be enormous, almost equalling block storage so that storage space can be increased up to 70%.
A special characteristic of this system is that the pallets are stored in the width on runners. These runners extend the full depth of the rack, and the forklift trucks drive into the structure to deposit or retrieve pallets. The runners are fixed to short carrying arms.
