Construction
The conveyor system is made up of modules. A roller conveyor is built up by placing several modules in a row.
Function (rigid)
The goods are transported to the end of the conveyor. Due to its rigid nature, this conveyor it is not suited to accumulation mode.
Rollers (rigid)
The steel rollers have an external diameter of 50mm and a gauge of 1.5mm. and are driven by a motor and high quality polyamide sprocket wheel (Z = 14; 1/2").
Function (Friction)
The goods are transported to the end of the conveyor and accumulate with zero back pressure. When the first unit is unloaded all the others automatically move up.
Rollers (Friction)
The tubing of the steel roller has an external diameter of 50mm and a gauge of 1.5mm. The rollers are driven unilaterally by a motor and chain rotary drive (Z=14; 1”) via a techno-polymer anti-friction bush which serves as a friction clutch. Should the goods being transported start to accumulate, then the roller under the goods stops rotating while the drive mechanism in the anti-friction bush continues to turn.
Sections
The roller bed consists of extruded, anodised aluminium C-sections (MA10) measuring 150 x 42mm (MA65). These also serve as load-bearing elements and as a fixing point for floor supports, drive unit, plastic covers, etc.
Drive
The drive unit consists of an electric angular gear motor, a return chain and a clamping mechanism and is mounted in the lateral aluminium section. The motor uses a voltage of 400V/50Hz (3 phase) developing 0.37kW.
The return chain station has steel wheels with bearings and is located on the roller conveyor or at the ends of the modules.
The drive rollers are driven tangentially by a one-piece precision roller chain (1/2" x 5/16"). The precise positioning of the traction and return strand in the floor sliding rail beneath the rollers and inside the aluminium section reduces friction.
The complete drive unit including the motor and the turning unit is protected from damage by polymer covers. In addition the drive unit is not visible from outside.
Floor supports
The floor supports are made of extruded, anodised aluminium sections measuring 30mm x 60mm. They are fixed in the grooves at the beginning and end of the conveyor, as well as at the joints of the modules, with steel connecting elements and T-headed screws. The feet can be adjusted by ±50mm to level out any unevenness in the floor.
