Intelliveyor Cargo

Construction

The conveyor is built up of modules. Each module represents one pallet place and has its own motor. A roller conveyor is built up by placing several modules in a row. The length of the modules depends on the maximal length of the goods to be transported.

A motor and a light sensor are allocated to each module. Several rollers are driven by chains (roller to roller)

Operation

The goods are carried to the end of the conveyor and accumulate with zero back pressure. When the first or any other unit is unloaded, all the others move up.

Principle

If a light sensor reports that goods are arriving, the control checks whether the next zone in the conveying direction is free or occupied. If it is free then the motor is activated for a certain period of time and the goods are conveyed to the next zone.

If this zone, however, is occupied, then the goods behind are held back, forming a queue. When goods have to be transported, the motor in the section is switched on. In this way the system operates economically and quietly, while reducing wear-and-tear to a minimum.

Rollers

Galvanised Universal rollers with an outside diameter of 133mm are standard. The rollers have a double chain wheel permitting roller-to-roller drive with a 3/4" chain.

1 first roller
2 (standard) roller
3 accessible plate
4 lateral cladding
5 motor
6 support
7 stopper (optional)
8 roller bed

Motor

The AC motor (3/400V/1,1kW/50Hz) is either mounted at the side of a module (with UER 200mm) or underneath (with UER 508mm). It chain-drives one or two rollers. Its outstanding characteristics are compact construction, high efficiency, reliability and quiet operation.

Roller bed

Floor supports

The floor supports consist of two vertical steel U-sections joined by a welded cross-member, which is also a steel U-section. At the top, the supports are bolted to the side sections of the conveyor module and have steel plates at the bottom as a bearing surface. Unevenness in the floor is levelled out by placing the appropriate number and size of metal shims (supplied in bulk) under the steel plates. The conveyor is anchored to the floor with two bolts per support.

Technical data

  • Roller diameter: 133,0mm
  • Tube gauge (first R.): 7,1mm
  • Tube gauge (standard R): 4,0/5,0mm
  • Roller pitch: 305,0mm
  • Clear width: 2.540,0/3.280,0mm
  • Conveyor width: 2.719,0/3.459,0mm
  • Length of module: 3.660,0mm
  • Upper edge of roller (UER): 200,0/508,0mm
  • Conveying speed: approx. 0,3m/s

Option: Stopper Type 1

1 tension spring
2 lever to pressure spring
4 threaded pin
5 pressure spring
6 stopper
7 operating lever
8 operating roller

Operation

The # 1 model stopper is a triangular cross-section covering the complete width of the module that can be lowered below the level of the upper edge of the roller. The stopper is lowered by the impetus of the materials handling equipment while unloading goods. Afterwards a pressure spring returns it to the upper position. It can also be operated using a foot switch.

Option: Stopper Type 2

1 motor with brake
2 retainer clip
3 pin
4 bolt
5 approach switch
6 coupling rod
7 extension spring
8 screw of adjustment

Operation

The # 2 stopper is motor-driven and normally used in lifting decks and dolly-docking stations. Two stoppers at the end of the conveyor, usually located underneath upper edge of the roller, can be folded back up where they stand 50mm over the upper edge of the roller.
