Drive Shaft

Construction

The conveyor is made up of modules. A roller conveyor is built up by placing several modules in a row.

Operation

The goods are transported to the end of the conveyor and accumulate with zero pressure. After the first unit has been unloaded, the others automatically follow on.

Rollers

The galvanised tubing of the steel roller is 50mm in diameter and 1.5mm thick. The rollers are driven by a drive shaft. On the shaft there are friction rollers (contact-friction-coupling) which drive a roller via a circular belt. If necessary this roller drives the adjacent roller via a circular belt running over the corrugation.

When the goods being transported start to accumulate, the roller under the goods stops rotating while the axle driving shaft continues to turn.

Motor

The electric angular gear motor and a completely masked driving chain to the shaft drive are located away from the conveyor. Voltage required for the motor is 400V/50Hz (3 phase) developing 0.37kW.

At the end of the conveyor or on the last module there is a special coupling allowing several modules to be powered by a single drive unit.

Roller bed

The sides of the modules are made of extruded anodised aluminium C-profiles (MA10) measuring 120mm x 30mm. They serve as load-bearing elements as well as a place to fix the conveyor supports, the plastic covers, lateral guides, etc. As an option, a low profile guide (MA72/MA73), compatible with the standard section, is also available, e.g. for positioning the goods being conveyed.

All screws and spindles ends are set in the hollow space of the section protecting them from damage. This hollow can also be used to house the control and pneumatic cables.

Floor supports

The floor supports are made of extruded, anodised aluminium sections measuring 30mm x 60mm. They are fixed in the grooves at the beginning and end of the conveyor, as well as at the joints of the modules, with steel connecting elements and T-headed screws. The feet can be adjusted by ±50mm to level out any unevenness in the floor.
